Eine Sache von der ich nie genug bekommen kann sind Menschen. Genauer, von den Geschichten, die sie zu erzählen haben, von der Leidenschaft, die sie in ihre Arbeit stecken oder von den Dingen, für die sie leben. Ich liebe es dies zu erfahren und solche Momente einzufrieren. Momente voller leuchtender Augen, herzlichen Lachens und somit Authentizität, wie auch Tränen, Angst, Wut und jede andere Emotion die es uns ermöglicht, uns in dem anderen wiederzuerkennen - wie schon Schopenhauer predigte 'Tat Twam asi' - 'das bist du'. Ich liebe Portraits einfach.
Hab ich ein Glück, dass ich auf der Fashion Week die Chance hatte mal wieder ein paar starke Aufnahmen zu sammeln. Natürlich war ich nicht diejenige Person, welche die volle Aufmerksamkeit der Models genoss und doch mag ich die Fotos genau aus diesem Grund noch viel mehr.
Die Fotografierten mussten nicht irgendwelchen meiner Erwartungen entsprechen. Ich war nur ein Zuschauer, der auf den kurzen Augenblick wartete, wo sie mit dem Modeln aufhören würden. Das beste Beispiel dafür ist das erste Foto dieser Serie - ein großes Lächeln nachdem vermeintlich alle Fotos im Kasten waren.
Was ich an den anderen Fotos mag ist die Distanz, die wir trotz der starken Ausstrahlung spüren können. Jene Distanz, welche uns das objektive Betrachten überhaupt erst möglich macht. Vielen Dank auch nochmal von mir, Dimitri, für diese tolle Möglichkeit.

One thing that does not fail to inspire me are people. More precisely the stories they tell, the passion they put into what they do and what they live for. I love to freeze those moments. Moments full of glooming eyes, smiles and authenticity or tears, fear, anger and every emotion that helps us to build a connection with the other human being. I love portraits.
Lucky me, that I had a chance to shoot some new ones at the Fashion Week. Sure, I haven't been the one person that had the full attention of the models, however, I like it better this way anyhow.
Those photographed do not feel the need to meet expectations from me. I'm just a bystander that waits for the a little glimpse of the not planned show - for example a big smile after the shoot, like in the first picture. What I like about the others is the distance while we can see that strong expressions. Thanks again, Dimitri, for this opportunity.
